Here is a painting depicting a journey to healing. I believe the Lord wants us to be whole in spirit, soul, and body (3 John 1:2 NIV). A believer's spirit has already been completely made new in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17-18).

The hope for our soul's healing is found in Jesus' work on the cross as well. Isaiah 53:5a says: "he punishment that brought us peace was upon Him..." Through Christ a believer has relational peace with our Father in heaven. There is now no conflict between us and ultimate love...what an amazingly healing statement.

Isaiah 53:5b refers to His provision to heal our body for "...by His wounds we are healed." Matthew 8:16-17 confirms this is referring to physical healing: "When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases."

God loves pulling us out of the shattered wreckage of our lives into complete wholeness as we respond to His loving invitation.
