"Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."
Luke 2:13-14

Weary and lowly shepherds tending their flock. Maybe they were half asleep, maybe they were focused, prodding the herd ever-onward, or maybe they had stopped to glance at the stars in their vast twinkling canopy. In a brief moment, these simple, "not-so-important" laborers became the privileged audience to one angel's earth-shaking announcement and then a heavenly angelic host singing their glories to God. As the stunned viewers took it all in, the peace and favor of God must have rested on and enveloped them like a cloak... A life-altering experience where grace was poured out on the humble of heart. Scripture says that the shepherds returned after visiting the holy infant, and glorified and praised God for all the things they had seen and heard (Luke 2:20). May we have the same humility today as we consider all that God has freely given us in His cherished Son, Jesus Christ. Blessings to everyone this Christmas from True Image Illustration!
