The Outskirts of Bethlehem
This monochromatic piece contrasts the dark of night with the brightness of the stars and also with the "brightness" of the Christ Child. The light emanating from the manger signifies that Jesus is the "Anointed One" sent to earth from His Father in Heaven. Also, I moved the manger, which could possibly have been a cave in those times, a short distance away from the town of Bethlehem. This was only to highlight the rejection and hardship Joseph and the pregnant Mary must have been experiencing when they had travelled 100 miles or so on a donkey only to find Bethlehem had no room in their inns!
